The 16th century Tudor barn offers a large and comfortable space off the beaten track down a quiet farm drive, peacefully surrounded by ancient wildflower meadows and hedged countryside. When you’re not kayaking, you can play tennis, croquet, barbecue, picnic or explore the historic Wool villages on foot or bicycle. In the evening dress up in Tudor costumes for a feast and dance​.

The newly kitted out bunkhouse provides really comfortable and stylish farm-stay accommodation for those on a budget. You can cook and eat together in the kitchen and relax in the cosy upstairs sitting room - and sleep in comfortable joiner-made oak bunk beds and conventional beds - after a long day kayaking​.

The Pier



approx. 50 minute drive from our Sudbury base





The Pier consists of two historic buildings standing proudly on the Harwich quay side. The Essex hotel’s main building, built in the 1850s with seven second-floor bedrooms, most of which overlook the estuary. The second building was formerly the Angel public house, which is now fully refurbished and converted into a further seven bedrooms. All 14 bedrooms are carefully furnished with individual touches. Several rooms also offer sofa beds for accompanying children.

A 'wild camping' experience just for tents. This small parcel of woodland is surrounded by stunning views and walks through the Stour Valley. Ideal for individuals and small groups who enjoy the countryside and who want to camp in a natural and peaceful space. No electricity but do provide flush toilet, undercover washing-up area, outside drinking water tap.
